Oat Malt (Big O) - Gladfield (NZ) - 25kg
If you're keen to get the best possible haze in your New England IPA batch, or simply a rich nutty silky creaminess in Stouts Gladfield have the answer for you. Malted Oats! This can be put through your mill the same as barley and not cause an absolute sticky roller mess like you could have seen milling flaked oats.
Malted Oats will aid in sparging / run-off as the husks will still be semi intact like the barleys husks for your brew. Gladfield have noted below that Malted Oats will absorb more water than barley so increase your strike water by a little bit to compensate.
Some brewing notes:
The oats and husk will absorb more water so be prepared to increase the amount of your strike water.
Mix the oats with the barley during milling to help deliver an even crush.
